as i take my wetsuit off after my surfing session yesterday, i thought about the things i've picked up along the way to make my surfing more fun & comfortable. I figured it'd be nice for every newbie to have a place for these stuff.

..NEVER go body surfing w/ wetsuit top down, unless you'd want to go skinny dipping.. haha :)

..use a cheap paint brush to take the sand off your feet before getting inside the car..

feel free to add yours on!

put plastic bags on your feet to put your wet suit on. They will help you slide into your wetsuit easier.

and if you attempt to walk around w/ the bags on your feet, the loss of traction that helped you get into your diving wet suit will then CAUSE u to fall over. Hahaha

Hahaha Here goes my list:

1. Put warm water in your gloves before going to your 2nd session. They'll give your hands some warmth! But never put on hot water, it'll of cors destroy the rubber band suroounding the seams.

2. Use a bamboo mat to change on so that the sand will just go right off!

3. Don't mix soap with wax on your board! Unless you have plans of cleaning another surfer's board, then that's a good idea!

Never wrap your leash around your board. Take it off when you're not surfing & just hang it up. It will prevent them from getting tangles!

And oh!! Don't wipe out.. and get hit in the head by your own board. It may hurt. I mean... IT HURTS!

If you wear a hood, dunk it in the ocean water before you put it on. Will go on more easily.

I was once a beginner and i learned these 2 important points in surfing:

a) you should always wear your leash.. or at least have a rope tied to your leg and surfboard!

b) you should only get surfboards with a safety nose guard.. that is for prevention of any possible dangers or impact of the surfboard nose!

Here's one I just learned. When you want to remove your wetsuit after a session, turn the cuffs inward about an inch. Many surfers carry water with them to rinse off with, pour some water into your wetsuit (hopefully it will be at least warm water...). By cuffing the bottoms of your legs and arms, the wetsuit will retain some of the ware, making your wetsuit fill up like a balloon. Will make it easier to get off with a bit of moisture inside.
