How come i still can't manage to ride along the face of a wave? I've been surfing for quite some time now. How do you do it? Can someone please describe the right way of doing it? Thanks in advance!

Are u on a longboard, funboard? or shortboard? surfing boards make a big difference, im telling you now.. and are u on a whitewateR? or are u catching green waves?

put in mind that whenever u paddle for the wave, u must paddle really hard. and look down the face of the wave.. then paddle twice again, the pop-up, but still keep on looking down the line of the wave. that should work..

When you're out paddling and trying to catch a surfing wave, you simply need to angle surfing boards slightly into the direction you heading at: right or left? And that pretty much summarizes your concern

Aside from looking to the direction you want to go, you should also lean towards the wave. It can also help if you'll spread your arms a little in the direction you're traveling.

And this, remember that how you approach your drop-in mostly depends on the type of wave your are riding.

In smaller waves, try to paddle diagonaaly instead of just aiming directly for the beach.. And while facing these big waves, try to pump your board & put your weight on your front foot so you'd gain speed.

You're best chance of catching the wave is by paddling in the direction the wave is traveling. Once you've dropped in a time or two, you'll gain confidence and be able to confront larger more powerful waves. It's a learning thing.

A bad day surfing is better than a good day working
