I'm a beginner and I want to know what size I should get, I'm 5'2" 120 lbs. I also really want to get into short boarding, but I know I probably should not get one as a beginner board.

It depends on how athletic you are. Have you snowboarded? waterskiied? If so, you might want to go with something in the 7'6" range that's a funboard since you're only 5'2". I'm 5'6" and I use a 7'6" board and I like it a lot. It's rather easy for me to catch waves and I can also transition into an intermediate surfer with that board. I wanted something to last me longer than only as a beginner. It's not so big that it's difficult for me to carry and manage but it's definitely a bit harder to get up than on a long board that's 9'. Hope that helps. I would try to rent the first few times and try different boards before you commit on spending a few hundred dollars on a board.
