I just moved to north of Boston. I want to start
surf. I have tried several times before but it was always with someone
and someone's board.
I would like to buy board and stuff. wetsuits/hood etc.
Please someone let me know. what kind of board I should get. And, what
kind of wetsuits will be good for cold boston ocean. If you know any
store that is near boston.
Also, if you know any teacher or surf lesson in boston area. Let me know.

As far as a board, you will want something between 8'6" to 9'0"+ in length depending on your size. I would also get something at least 3" thick and more on the wide side where it doesn't have a lot of taper down to the tail. This will provide some stability. I would recommend a soft top, but you may want to be off that quickly and on to something else. If a soft top doesn't interest you, tell your local surf shop you are a beginner and you want a big stable board.
For the water, I assume you will need booties, a hood, and probably a 5/4 wetsuit, although I don't know exactly as I don't know your water temps out there...good luck.
