Hey guys, I'm Boomer, I'm new to surfing and stuff. I've only been surfing once, and it was last summer. I went to Daytona with a couple of friends, and one brought a surfboard. he said he had been doing it for a month, and still hasn't stood up and rode it yet. Every time he lost balance. So I decide to give it a shot, I get a fairly good wave, I stand up, and ride that baby to shore. Needless to say he was pissed. Ever since then I've wanted to get a board of my own and surf. I'm going back to Daytona this weekend, getting me a board, and surfing. I just have two questions: What is a good beginners short board? Also I have a little problem sometimes, when I stand up to surf, the board sometimes sinks into the water and I stop and the waves go past me as I slowly sink. Any body else have that problem?
