We always visit Tai Long Wan for surfing. They also call it the Big Wave Bay. The place is clean and not overly-crowded (except on Sundays). Try to arrive there as early as you can because the waves easily get small in the afternoon.. No problem with the surfboards there coz you can rent one for 50HKD per day. Or u can also buy a used one. Anyway, i still suggest that u buy your surfboard in the US coz the ones in Hong Kong comes with poor quality and they are a bit more expensive.

there's this place in the east coast of Hong Kong island. It's a village called Shek O and it has a really good looking beach to its south. It's pretty crowded though during summer weekends but it's ideal for a getaway or surfing vacation because it's far from the city. Only few people live there & it's fairly peaceful & quiet on weekdays.

Tai Long Wan (Sai Kung) is one of the best surfing spot in Hongkong, I haven't tried surfing there though but I was able to visit the place. They say it is a "regional-classic" and it is uncrowded so you could relax and enjoy the beach in surfing.
