The Mentawai Island is a wave-rich chain of about seventy islands and islets off the coast of West Sumatra region in Indonesia. This island is already known as one of the most consistent surf spots in the world. There are four main islands (Siberut, Sipora, North Pagai, and South Pagai) that block most swells from reaching the mainland of Sumatra, which became noted destinations for wave-hunters that are looking for some of the most perfect surfing experiences in the world.

These islands attracts swells all year round with the most consistent season generally being between March and November. Waves vary in size from 2 to 12 foot with the average wave height being about 6 foot. This region can also get big swells with up to 16 feet.
