California Surfing

California is one of the best spots for water sports in North America, and one sport that this place is famous for is Surfing. It is even believed that California is one of the birth places of beach Surfing in the early 60’s for not only did it introduce the sport; it also popularized the surf lifestyle.
Most people say that Surfing is a tradition in California. Its picturesque beaches and unrelenting waves are ideal for the sport. One can enjoy Surfing in its truest sense because the weather is very good, its coastal area is conducive for water sports, and big waves abound. With the large Surfing community and respect that the people have for the sport, a first timer can only be inspired and thrilled with the overwhelming love and appreciation the people there have for Surfing. The passion for the sport, the hunt for great waves, and the adrenaline rush of riding that ultimate wave are just some of the reasons people come back for more.
Once you decide to come to California to check the waters, Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay are just some beaches that are very popular. If you want to see where it all started then you should definitely visit OB. Ocean Beach in San Diego or “OB” is one of the most famous beaches in South California. Also referred to as Mussel Beach, OB is a historic site - home to the biggest Surfing community in America. This place is devoted to Surf Culture with the widest array of surf shops, restaurants, piers, and of course, an awesome beach front.
As you know, California is known for its ideal weather throughout the year, making it one of the top destinations of foreign tourists and locals alike. That is why most of the time, the place can be full of people. Don’t worry - there is enough beach space for everyone, just be ready to share the California shores with other beach buffs.
On the other hand, if you think that Surfing is not your best sport, then worry not because there are other water sports that await you.
