Surfing Types
In its simplest form, Surfing is catching and riding waves on a board. It is a water sport in which a surfer is carried by a breaking wave using a Surfboard toward the shore. As more and more people get interested in the sport, several variations of Surfing arise. These are Bodyboarding and Bodysurfing. Surfing Competitions are also held in different parts of the world. Bodyboarding
Bodyboarding is much like Surfing: you paddle out behind the break and try to catch a good wave, and then ride it. Bodyboarding is a mix of style, speed, power, and performance.

Bodysurfing
If you think you cannot surf without a board, think again. Bodysurfing is the art of riding a wave without the use of a Surfboard or a Bodyboard.

Longboard Surfing
As the name suggests, Longboard Surfing makes use of a Longboard. If you are a beginner, the use of a Longboard is your first step in learning the basics of Surfing.

In this section, get familiar with the different competitions that surfers can participate in and know the governing bodies of professional Surfing.
