De Souza Wins at Maresia Surf International

Brazilian surfer Adriano de Souza won in the Maresia Surf International and marked the highest score he has ever made. De Souza scored 19.20 points in the first semi-final. With 2500 points, de Souza went up to 31st position from 45th in the WQS ratings.
De Souza, whose last winning in a surf contest was in 2005, defeated Australian surfer Corey Ziems. Though losing Maresia Surf International, Ziems has started winning various surf contest for the past days. Last Sunday, he won against Australian surfer Drew Courtney in the quarters. After that, he made it to the final of ‘QS this year by winning the semi-final heat against Brazilian Victor Ribas.
