North Stradbroke Island surfers Tim McDonald won the Rip Curl GromSearch 16 and Under Boys division, a week after Bede Durbridge won at Pipeline.
While Coolangatta surfer Jack Freestone was in control of the finals with his starting score of 8-point ride, McDonald got the first spot through his 7.4 point ride in the final 10 minutes and later ending it with 8.5 points.

Grom Search Semi-finals Held at Duranbah |

Jack Freestone and Kieren Lloyd both scored high in the semi-final of the Boys 16 and Under division of Grom Search held at Duranbah, New South Wales, Australia yesterday.
Llyod won second place in the same event last year. This made him a contender for this year's finals.
