Luke Munro Takes the Lead at 2008 ASP World Tour

TUESDAY, 26 FEBRUARY 2008

Luke Munro took the lead on the opening day of 2008 ASP World Tour competition at Duranbah Beach. He posted the highest wave score of 9.50 with heat total of 17.50 of the round.

Munro now heads to Round 3 where he was eliminated immediately in 2007. In that year, he finished at 41st out of the Top 45. Then he was pre-qualified through the WQS.

Meanwhile, reigning champ Mick Fanning, including Joel Parkinson and Dean Morrison, advanced to Round 3 without much difficulty. The three already won the competition once, except for Fanning who won in 2005 and 2007.
