Davey Weare Dominates Quiksilver Pro Durban

South African Davey Weare defeated USA's Austin Ware in the final round of the Quiksilver Pro Durban in Ansteys on the Bluff near Durban. Weare took home $US15,000 and a spot in the coveted World Tour in 2009.
Weare surfed a red-hot heat against German surfer Marlon Lipke and won the heat. In the quarterfinal round, the last eight surfers competed and only four emerged as winners. They were Josh Kerr, Jihad Khodr, Davey Weare, and Portuguese surfer Tiago Pires.
The first semifinal round was a battle between American Austin Ware who eliminated Kodr. Weare won against Tiago Pires in the second semifinal round.
